Easter is one of the most fun holidays for kids and with all the ways to dye Easter Eggs, it’s no wonder! While we have definitely explored regular dyes, dip dyes, shaving cream dyes and just about all the other fun ways to dye an egg out there, this year we wanted to show you an easy, fun and safe way to dye those eggs – with Kool-Aid!
No vinegar needed, this 2 ingredient Easter Egg Dying Method produces gorgeous bright Kool Aid Colored Easter Eggs (well, most colors!) and is safe for even the youngest child to handle.
Kool Aid Easter Dye Ingredients
Before you get started on this easy craft for Easter, you will need to verify you have every thing. Grab a variety of Kool-Aid colored flavor packets. The ones that are used in this article are listed below.
The plastic containers we used are from the Dollar Tree, Betty Crocker brand and work great.
Please note that in the case of these eggs, blue Kool-Aid and green Kool-Aid was unavailable in my area, so we had to get creative on how to achieve those colors by combining other colors as listed in the instructions. This is a totally fun Easter DIY project!
- Variety of colored Kool-Aid packets-1 cherry, 1 orange, 3 lemonade, 2 blue raspberry, 1 grape

How to Dye Easter Eggs with Kool-Aid
While using a Kool Aid packet isn’t a natural dye, you get amazing color intensity from these little packets and the benefit of the dye being food safe. The finished eggs can be a variety of colors, depending on how long you leave them in the water, and are a lot of fun with pretty colors.
