A few months back we decided to test out the Party Pool Dye in red. The colored pool was so amazing that we shared it on our TikTok where it racked up millions of views. See the videos here and here.
I know I am a bit behind, but I also wanted to share with our new blog as well as where to buy Rockin Red Pool Dye for your next party!
First, you should know what Party Pool Dye is.
What is Party Pool Dye?
Party Pool dye is actually a coloring agent for pool water.
According to the manufactures info:
- A color additive water enhancer and clarifier for water features, pools, and ponds. With all three colors, you will be ready for any event from birthdays, to fourth of July, to Halloween!
- An easy and Inexpensive way to add sparkling color to your pool, any time, in minutes and it lasts for days.
- This summer amaze your host and bring Party Pool! to the party as a gift. Your pool will have a bright, sparkling color for 3-5 days and won’t stain your clothing or pool. Simply mix the needed concentrate with two gallons of water and pour near the edge of the water, specifically by the return jets, and your water will be dyed between 30-60 minutes.
- People safe and pool safe. It is non-toxic, non-caustic. One 8 oz. bottle will treat an average 20,000 gallon pool twice
Does Party Pool Dye Work?
We purchased the RED Party pool dye on Amazon and yes, it works amazing.
Watching the dye spread through the pool was the best part and the red made the pool look straight out of a horror movie.
The danger is that you cannot see the bottom of the pool, so if you do a color additive, make sure to proactive pool safety as you cant tell if someone is at the bottom.
Did Party Pool Dye mess up Pool Liner?
We have a salt water pool and our pool was still balanced after using the dye. That being said, the dye DID leave a film around the edge of the liner and I had to scrub it off with a scrub brush.
As far as I can tell it was due to regular pool debris in the water sticking around the edges and then the dye stuck to that. It came off fairly easily but did require me getting in the pool and scrubbing it off after the dye was out.
The party dye also dyed the white hose on the Polaris.
It stayed reddish pink for about 2 months and naturally wore off.
As far as suits, we did not notice any dye on the swimsuits, but I would stay away from diving in with a white swimsuit.
How long did Party Pool Dye stay?
To be honest, we were so in awe of the dye itself and I started to panic so I set the pool pump on high. It was out within 24 hours at that point.
The seller basically says if you want it to stay longer, do not filter it out so quick.
Dying Pool Red For Halloween
Honestly, the red in the pool looks amazing but isn’t quite a “summer” look. The red dye would work fantastic for a Halloween scene and if you get creative, through some floating skeletons on top!
